About Swindon Town vs. Northampton Town
Elected to the Southern League in 1901, Northampton joined the League as Swindon were at their lowest ebb - after beating the Town 3-1 at the County Ground in the clubs' first ever encounter, the Cobblers humiliated them further in the return fixture, win
Northampton played a part in the Town's first ever relegation, in 1964/65 - going into the final day of the season, Swindon and Portsmouth were tied on 33 points at the bottom of the table, and Northampton were already assured of promotion to Division One
