Footage Archive

Since 2007, the TownEnders team has been acquiring STFC footage, in an attempt to compile a comprehensive library of Swindon matches. After the purchase of a number of old videos from eBay, and having uploaded some of this footage to YouTube, a number of other fans came forward with old VHS videos that have all been converted to DVD, and documented here. The collection now stands at over 600 DVDs, and the group continues to retrieve any new footage that comes our way - the vast majority of the footage has been made available throughout the site, and via our YouTube channel.

Please note that the footage is not for sale, but we are happy to share and swap! We would love to hear from you if you have footage of any Swindon Town game, especially if it is listed in the missing section below, or where you have more comprehensive/higher quality footage than we currently own. In particular, anything from pre-1990 is absolutely golden to us, and the coverage we have of matches from 2001 through to 2006 is generally of poor quality. Please get in touch!

Missing Footage

Footage that is missing from the archive is shown below in two sections - "holy grail" footage, mostly from the 1960s and 1970s, that we know was shown on regional or national TV, and more recent footage since 1986/87 that at least some of which ought to be out there somewhere!

Holy Grail

All of the matches listed below are games that we know were shown on TV - mostly on regional TV in the 1960s and 1970s - it would be incredible if any of this still exists!

Particularly frustrating is the Reading match from 2002, that was shown on ITV Digital and really should be out there somewhere - also the second half of Town's Anglo-Italian match against Sampdoria was shown live on the BBC - these are the only two matches shown live that we do not have in the archive. It is also known that the Burnley League Cup semi-final from 1969 was shown on ITV - and would be

Also though, at the very bottom of the list... we know that footage exists in the Huntley Film Archives of the Barnsley vs Swindon FA Cup Semi-Final tie from 1912 - it's a couple of minutes of wonderful footage, including some of the rough treatment that Harold Fleming encountered, that kept him out of the game for months afterwards. It can be viewed via the link, but we have yet to add it to our archives as the cost is astronomical!
