A former Australian under-20 international, Colin Todd signed Invincibile for Swindon after spotting him playing in a trial match for West Ham, managing to fight off competition from a number of First Division clubs. He joined shortly before the 2000/2001 season started, and made his debut on the opening day of the season, in a 0-0 home draw with Colchester.

It was a strange season for Invincibile - firstly, Colin Todd utilised him as a right-sided midfielder, then, when Andy King took over, he inexplicably began to use him as a wing-back. Predictably, he looked hopelessly out of position - which prompted King to drop Invincibile to the bench for a period, and Wycombe manager Lawrie Sanchez to make a bid of £50,000, which was dismissed as derogatory.

Despite all this, Invincibile ended the season as the club's top scorer, and became a firm crowd favourite - not least because of the spectacular last minute volley he scored in the last home game of the season versus Peterborough, which saved the Town from relegation to Division Three.

After King was sacked, Roy Evans began to play Invincibile up front, where he looked far more comfortable - and King kept him there after his reinstatement. Invincibile himself admitted he was still learning to play there, considering his best position as an attacking central midfielder, where he played back in Australia. This sometimes showed in his play, where he obviously lacked the predatory instinct of a natural goalscorer. On a good day, Invincibile could terrorise defences with his pace and ability to take players on - on a bad one, he could simply disappear from the game.

There was much speculation in his last few months at Swindon as to whether Invincibile would remain at the club, and with rumoured interest from Wigan, Crystal Palace, one unnamed Premiership club, PSV Eindhoven, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon, it was always likely he would leave. Invincibile eventually rejected his contract offer in April 2003, and he received a standing ovation from the crowd on the last day of the season, in the home win over Luton. After the match, it was revealed that King had made a last-ditch attempt to keep Invincibile on the day of the game, which proved to be unsuccessful - he eventually signed for Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock before the start of the new season.
