Signed from Leyton Orient in January 2024, Drinan offered competition for Charlie Austin as Town’s main forward - a similar option stylistically and indeed a fairly good lookalike as well. Drinan was an experienced forward at Lower League level, not often prolific but a good contributor to the team, and with experience of being promoted with Leyton Orient in 22/23.

He proved a competent option in a poor Swindon side across the rest of the season, initially off the bench but from March onwards Gavin Gunning trusted him to start, either off the right in a three man attack or centrally alongside Austin. He grabbed his first goal away at Mansfield and his second in the next game against Accrington, and added another couple before the end of the season as Town’s season petered out to a record low league finish.

Drinan will be part of Town’s squad for for the 24/25 season and has been reunited with Harry Smith with whom he shared a successful partnership for Leyton Orient.
