A Welsh international who made his debut for Southampton at the age of 19, winger Isgrove’s career had been badly affected by injuries before joining Town, playing fewer than 70 games over 8 seasons before being released by Barnsley in June 2019 at the age of 26. He signed a one-year contract at Town that summer, having impressed in several pre-season friendlies whilst on trial.

Clearly blessed with a skill, Isgrove made an electric start to his Town career, notching five assists in his first seven games and quickly becoming a favourite of the Town faithful. Isgrove played 19 games through until the end of October - although he played 90 minutes in only five of them - before his lack of physical durability caught up with him. He suffered a knee injury which forced him off after 30 minutes at Crawley, ending his run of games.

He returned in December, but his form never quite hit the same heights - he would only once more play a full game before the season ended in March. All told, he made 26 starts and six substitute appearances, and though he was offered a new contract ahead of the 2020/21 season, he instead chose to remain in League Two - joining Bolton Wanderers alongside striker Eoin Doyle, who he had linked up with so well in the early part of the season.
