Originally signed on a month's loan from Watford to become Iffy Onuora's first signing as manager, pacy frontman Bouazza made his Town debut on the final game of a club record run of defeats - a 2-1 home reverse against Port Vale in October 2005. With the Town at the bottom of League One, his arrival coincided with an upturn in results - and after an impressive performance in a 0-0 draw at Brentford the following Saturday, he opened his goalscoring account with a strike in a 2-0 victory over Stevenage in the LDV Vans Trophy.

Bouazza was utilised either as a centre forward, or on the left side of an attacking 4-5-1 formation away from home - using this system, the Town didn't lose a single league game away from the County Ground during his stay. Though his pace and direct style caused problems for opposing defences, his finishing generally didn't - though despite not having scored a league goal during his first month, Onuora moved to extend Bouazza's loan period, which saw him remain at the County Ground to the end of the year. Bouazza netted his first league goal twelve days later in a 1-1 draw at Port Vale, his only other goal coming from the penalty spot in his penultimate appearance, his coolly taken spot kick salvaging a draw at Chesterfield.

Despite only making the bench for his final game, he did have one more opportunity to open his account - missing a golden opportunity in the dying minutes of a game against Swansea. With Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd unwilling to extend his loan further, Bouazza returned to Vicarage Road the following day.
