Signed on loan from Derby County for the 2017/18 season alongside teammate Timi Elšnik, Gordon made 31 appearances for Town with more than half coming from the bench.

A right sided midfield player, Gordon was a more consistent presence in Town’s matchday squad than Elšnik until a dislocated shoulder suffered against Carlisle United in April ended his season. During his stay at SN1, Gordon scored four goals including the third in a 3-0 win at Port Vale which was his first professional goal. Less gloriously, he received a red card in a snowy game at Accrington in February for executing a neat judo throw during a scrap with Sean McConville.

After departing the Town, he spent time on loan at Lincoln before signing for Mansfield Town in July 2019.
