An experienced defender signed on an initial month's loan from Millwall in October 2010, Frampton had been part of the Lions' squad that had beaten the Town in the League One Play-Off Final five months previously - and after the Town's defence had leaked goals during the opening months of the season, the signing of Frampton was an attempt by manager Danny Wilson to plug the gap by replacing the experience of Gordon Greer who had departed in the close season - Wilson stating that his new signing was "the voice we have been missing". With his Millwall contract up at the end of the season, the defender admitted he was interested in a permanent switch to the County Ground - his initial loan spell was short-lived though - after making his debut in a 3-3 draw at Yeovil at the end of the month, he was immediately sidelined with an ankle injury, and then flu, which combined kept him out for over a month.

Though the loan transfer deadline had expired, Swindon were able to benefit from a grace period for loan extensions - and once Frampton was available again, he signed on for a second month's spell. After sitting on the bench during a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday, and missing the FA Cup ties with Crawley as he was cup-tied, bad weather then took a huge chunk out of his second month - his second appearance for the Town not coming until the end of December, in a 1-1 home draw with Peterborough. Frampton remained in the side for the next three matches, when after signing another extension to the end of the season, a groin strain forced him off the field during a match at Oldham, which forced him out of the next two games. His return to action at the end of January prompted two consecutive clean sheets, and he was ever-present right through to April - his run in the side coinciding with one of the worst winless runs in the Town's history, as they slumped down the table. Swindon were deep in relegation trouble well before Frampton was sent off against Milton Keynes Dons in April for a second bookable offence, and slumped even further into it when they lost at home to Notts County - the game that Frampton sat out through suspension. He returned to action the following weekend for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday, but was forced off in the first half with an injury, unable to prevent the defeat that would consign the Town to football in League Two the following season.
